Our core curriculum is based on the British National ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ (EYFS) curriculum, a comprehensive statutory framework in UK, which emphasises on developing students‘ social and emotional competence, cognitive skills, literacy and numeracy skills, physical abilities and overall well-being.

校本核心課程是根據英國國家早期教育綱要(EYFS)及幼兒六大發展領域而規劃:包括語言及溝通能力、社交能力、邏輯思維能力、認知能力、運動能力和藝術能力。課程設計針對幼兒身心發展及學習需要,以活潑和生活化的教學方式,配合多元化的學習活動,建立幼兒的語文、思考、創意、自理能力及正確的價值觀,為終身學習和全人發展打好基礎。

Our students are surrounded by a rich and engaging environment which provides them the opportunity to communicate in a range of situations and to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves.

The main strands of teaching
Listening and Attention

•       Students listen attentively in a range of situations. They listen to stories, accurately anticipating key events and respond to what they hear with relevant comments, questions or actions.

•       They give their attention to what others say and respond appropriately, while engaged in another activity.

Understanding

•       Students follow instructions involving several ideas or actions.

•       They answer ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions about their experiences and in response to stories or events.

Speaking

•       Students express themselves effectively, showing awareness of listeners’ needs.

•       They use the past, present and future forms accurately when talking about events that have happened or are to happen in the future.

•       They develop their own narratives and explanations by connecting ideas or events.

Logical Thinking: Mathematics and Science 邏輯思維:數學與科學

Mathematics and science are learnt through a multitude of practical activities in MYNORS. Daily routine activity such as playing board games (counting, matching, sorting), cooking (weight and capacity), shopping (identifying coins and using money), or reading the clock (identify important events during the day) give our students valuable practical mathematical experience.

培養學生從生活中去萌發數學及邏輯思維能力,以遊戲為核心,啟發式學習,從小培養觀察、分析、判斷及解難能力。鼓勵學生從小建立科學探索精神,啟迪思維。

Wednesday Art Programme: Expressive Arts and Design 創意藝術發展日:藝術與設計

Students can share and express their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of activities in visual art and music. Learning through the arts develops creativity, imagination, independence and confidence which are attributes that are valued in all facets of learning.

學校鼓勵孩子透過不同的藝術媒介與分享自己的想法、主意與感受等。校內設有維也納舞蹈音樂廳及視覺藝術中心,讓孩子體驗藝術,激發多元智能發展,發揮個人天賦,培養不一樣的氣質。

The main strands of teaching:
Visual Art

•       Students have opportunities to build on their understanding and appreciation of art in a variety of forms and style and from a variety of cultures through a cross curricular topic approach.

•       They learn to use different art techniques and develop an awareness of shape, colour, texture and pattern as well as understand the properties of materials that equip them with the skills to express themselves through art and design

Music

•       Students develop musical memory and accurate pitching, a sense of pulse through listening and singing.

•       They are taught with the names of simple percussion instruments, explore and experience concepts of musical opposites (e.g. loud, soft, fast slow).

•       Students are encouraged to sing in a class, in a group and as an individual, or perform at School Talent Show and some public functions to build confidence and self-esteem

Project Learning: Understanding the World 專題學習:認識世界

Understanding of the World provides students the opportunity to explore their environment and cultivate a genuine curiosity for the world in which they live in. The exploring starts from our community, city, country, to the world. This area also covers a variety of subjects including Geography, Science, Botany, Zoology and History.

通過多樣化的互動學習活動,幫助學生獲得有關世界的知識與理解,並掌握認知世界的技能,例如安全的實用工具、認識周圍自然界中的人類、生物、現象等。

The main strands of teaching:
People and Communities•       Topics such as ‘Places Around Us’ covers homes and places in the local community such as shops, hospitals, park, etc. During the spring and autumn term, we take school trips to the parks, space Transportation and occupations are also some major topics to be taught.
The World

•        Students are encouraged to explore and investigate, drawing on their own personal experiences and observing closely using their senses.

•       They learn to make observations of animals and plants and explain why some things occur, and talk about similarities, differences, patterns and changes.

•        Students can relate and understand cultural diversity and ultimately come to appreciate differences between humankind.

Environmental Awareness

•        Students learn to care for animals and plants, and develop concern for environmental protection

•        understand the relationship between humans and nature, and explore the relationship between technology and living

Literacy 讀寫能力

Literacy in the early years has two aspects, Reading and Writing. Our students are provided with the enabling environments and learning materials that enable them to talk about books, print in the environment, early mark making and writing, as well as share books and reading.

多樣化的互動學習活動,給學生提供豐富的閱讀和書寫經驗,以發展早期讀寫能力,打好基礎。

The main strands of teaching
Reading

•       Students learn to read and understand simple sentences.

•       We encourage students use phonic knowledge to decode regular words and read them aloud accurately. They also read some common irregular words.

•       They demonstrate understanding when talking with others about what they have read.

Writing

•       Draw attention to marks, signs and symbols in the environment and talk about what they represent.

•       Children use their phonic knowledge to write words in ways which match their spoken sounds. They also write some irregular common words.

•       They write simple sentences which can be read by themselves and others. Some words are spelt correctly and others are phonetically plausible

Physical Development 體能發展

We provide opportunities for our students to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement; as well as to learn the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food and daily habit to maintain a healthy life.

通過完善的感覺肢體統合課程,幫助學生掌握大小肌肉,激發身體機能;同時,灌輸健康生活的重要,培育孩子身心健康發展。

The main strands of teaching:
Moving and Handling

•       Our gym sessions take place daily to develop students’ good fine and gross motor skills.

•       Students learn to move safely on the various apparatus in the gym and using skills like climbing, crawling and jumping.

•       Students are provided with the opportunity to participate in competition that helps them to develop an appreciation of fair play, honest competition and good sportsmanship.

Health and self-care

•       Students know the importance for good health of physical exercise, and a healthy diet, and talk about ways to keep healthy and safe.

•       They manage their own basic hygiene and personal needs successfully, including dressing and going to the toilet independently.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development 個人、社交和情感發展

This area of learning is the promotion of personal qualities, skills, attitudes and values which enable individuals to think for themselves, develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings, understand appropriate behaviour and moral issues.

通過各種學習活動,幫助學生獲得對自我與他人的積極人生體驗,學會與人交往,懂得尊重他人,培養樂於學習的性情。

The main strands of teaching:
Personal Development•       We encourage students to try new activities, and be confident to speak in a familiar group, talk about their ideas, choose the resources they need for their chosen activities, and express their preferences.
Social Development

•       Students play co-operatively, taking turns with others. They take account of one another’s ideas about how to organise their activity.

•       They learn to show sensitivity to others’ needs and feelings, and form positive relationships with adults and other students.

Emotional Development

•       Students learn to understand how they and others feelings, talk about their own and others’ behaviour, and its consequences.

•       They are required to work as part of a group or class, and understand and follow the rules.

Diversified learning and teaching materials are designed for our school-based curriculum, complemented with a variety of meaningful learning aids, assessments and teaching pedagogies with reference to students’ interest and abilities.
學校採用校本課程及教材,透過多元化的學習材料和教學活動,照顧幼兒的學習需要和興趣。學校為幼兒打造了豐富的英語學習環境,透過主題單元遊戲、兒歌及故事等活動,配合校本英語拼音課程及閱讀計劃,為幼兒學習語文打好基礎。
